Plan your deck, board by board.

Enter your deck size and choose composite or timber boards. The planner works out every board, joist and fixing, then draws the layout for you to check. Quantities are a guide, so our team is happy to check your plan before you order.

How we count boards

Each row covers one board width plus a 5mm gap. We multiply the rows by the length of the deck, add your waste allowance, then compare every stock length and pick the one that leaves the least off-cut.

How we size the frame

Joists run across the boards at the spacing you choose, with a rim joist on each long edge. Where the deck is longer than one board, we add a double joist under every join so both board ends are supported.

What we leave to you

Ground conditions decide the footings. We count support points on a 1.2m grid, but soft or sloping ground may need more. Always follow the board maker’s own spacing and fixing guide.
