Product Details

The Power 8x18 Wooden Decking Kit gives your garden a solid, attractive platform built from responsibly sourced, slow grown Scandinavian timber. Every board has been Tanalised for long-term weather resistance, so the structure holds up season after season without fuss.

At 2380mm deep, this kit suits a wide range of garden layouts. The modular base units arrive pre-assembled, cutting your build time considerably. You need only basic hand tools and modest DIY confidence to get the deck level and fitted. Specialist decking screws and a full set of instructions come in the package, so nothing is left to source separately.

The 28mm pressure treated boards sit on 95mm x 44mm Tanalised base rails, with 85mm x 85mm Tanalised newel posts for the uprights. Cover boards are included to give the finished edges a clean, professional look. Pre-assembled handrail sections - choose two or three - are available as an option below if your site or preference calls for them. The entire kit carries a 10 Year Manufacturers warranty covering rot, decay, and insect damage. Apply a timber treatment at the earliest opportunity to maximise that lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the best base for a timber shed?

The best base for a timber shed depends on your specific needs, but popular options include concrete slabs, paving slabs, and plastic grid systems. Concrete offers durability and stability, while plastic grids provide excellent drainage and are eco-friendly. For larger sheds, a concrete base is often recommended for its long-term strength and level surface.

  • What tools will I need to build my garden shed?

Essential tools for building a garden shed include saws, a hammer, a spirit level, a tape measure, and safety goggles. You'll also need stakes, carpenter's pencils, a line level, and a shovel for ground preparation. Don't forget a post hole digger if you're installing support posts, and ensure you have an ample supply of nails and screws.

  • What are the benefits of a wooden shed?

Wooden sheds offer classic charm, versatility, and excellent value. They provide ample storage for garden tools and equipment while enhancing your outdoor space's aesthetic. Plus, they're customizable to suit your specific needs and preferences.

  • How long do wooden sheds last?

With proper care and maintenance, a high-quality wooden shed can last 20 years or more. Regular treatments and timely repairs can significantly extend its lifespan. Our pressure-treated options offer enhanced durability and rot resistance.

  • Are wooden sheds waterproof?

While not completely waterproof, our wooden sheds are designed to be highly water-resistant. We use quality materials and construction techniques to minimize water ingress. For added protection, we recommend applying a water-resistant coating and ensuring proper drainage around the shed.

  • What's the best wood for garden sheds?

Cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine are top choices for garden sheds. Cedar and redwood offer natural resistance to decay, while pressure-treated pine provides excellent durability at a more affordable price point. We use only the finest materials to ensure longevity and performance.

  • Do I need planning permission for a wooden shed?

In most cases, you won't need planning permission for a standard-sized wooden shed. However, regulations can vary by location. Generally, sheds should be under 2.5 meters high and occupy less than 50% of your garden space. Always check with your local council for specific guidelines.

  • How do I maintain my wooden shed?

Regular maintenance is key to preserving your shed's condition. Clean it seasonally, inspect for damage, and apply wood preservative as needed. Ensure proper ventilation and keep the roof and gutters debris-free. Repainting every few years can also protect against the elements.

  • Can I customize my wooden shed?

Absolutely! Our wooden sheds are highly customizable. Choose from various sizes, styles, and features to create your perfect outdoor storage solution. We offer options for windows, doors, partitions, and even custom paint colors to match your garden aesthetic.

  • How do I choose the right size shed?

Consider what you'll store and how you'll use the space. Measure your available garden area and factor in any future storage needs. Our range includes compact 6x4 sheds for small gardens up to spacious 12x8 models for larger storage requirements.

  • Are wooden sheds secure?

Our wooden sheds are built with security in mind. We use sturdy locks, hinges, and bolts on doors and windows. For added peace of mind, consider installing an alarm system or motion-activated lights. Remember, proper anchoring also enhances overall security.

  • What's the cost of a wooden shed?

Prices vary based on size, features, and wood quality. Our range starts from £300 for basic models, with premium options available up to £1000+. We offer competitive pricing without compromising on quality, ensuring excellent value for your investment.
